Is an Active Matter demo available now?

As checked on October 14, 2026, the public Steam store page did not expose a current demo download entry in the page we could inspect. We therefore cannot confirm a currently downloadable demo or a live trial period. This does not prove that demos have been permanently discontinued. Do not treat old playtest videos or an existing demo installation as a current public download offer.

What is available to buy?

The full game launched on September 15, 2026 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Check the store page for the current edition, regional price and supported hardware before buying. The game is an online extraction shooter: prepare equipment, enter raids, collect resources and extract. Gravity anomalies and hostile creatures add threats beyond opposing players; Isolated PvE Raids let you avoid rival squads.

Historical demo progress and the Steam claim

The official account-linking announcement confirms that a Steam demo existed. It also says linking the eligible early Gaijin version replaces existing Steam demo progress with the launcher progress. That is a specific migration rule, not a blanket promise that any demo save becomes a full-game save. Eligible early owners must link by November 23, 2026 to claim Steam access; the offer does not grant free PS5 or Xbox copies.

Before trying an announced trial

Use a current official announcement and the actual store entry. Check its start/end dates, supported platform and whether progress carries over. If the store offers only purchase, this guide has no verified alternative demo installer to recommend. Avoid unofficial downloads claiming to unlock a trial.
