What is Active Matter?

Active Matter is a hardcore first-person extraction shooter set in a fractured multiverse. Operatives enter quantum-unstable zones to gather loot and Active Matter while fighting monsters, anomalies, and rival players.

Progression continues through your Shelter, arsenal, Replicator, contracts, Harmonization Cycles, and Syndicate-related systems. The game supports PvE, PvPvE, dedicated PvP, co-op squads, cross-platform play, and shared progression across supported platforms.

Active Matter Raids and Extraction

Understand how Active Matter raids work, including PvE, PvPvE, Open and Isolated raid formats. Learn how raid objectives, extraction requirements, loot risk, squads, and changing zones affect every deployment.

Active Matter Maps and Locations

Explore raid locations scattered across fragments of Eastern Europe, Africa, North America, and other fractured realities. Each area has different environments, loot opportunities, enemies, objectives, and anomaly hazards.

  • Downtown

    A North American urban raid zone with ruined skyscrapers, streets, vehicles, Police and SWAT enemies, plus Unstable Zone and Collapse variants.

  • Airport

    An African raid location featuring military-gear hangars and an aircraft suspended inside a gravity anomaly.

  • Dalniy Island

    A recurring raid region with valuable loot areas, multiple raid variants, and monster encounters.

  • Gigastructure

    A dedicated raid environment introduced through the Gigastructure content update and used for specialized encounters and objectives.

Active Matter Anomalies and Monsters

Identify the anomalies and hostile entities that make Active Matter raids unpredictable. Learn which threats alter space, gravity, movement, or combat and which creatures require special positioning or tactics.

  • Ball Lightning

    A dangerous electrical anomaly that appears in the Multiverse and received an added trailing discharge effect in the 250 Shades of Liberty update.

  • Fireball

    A destructive anomaly introduced in the Fire Walk update and later included among anomalies that can be targeted by capture objectives.

  • Mimic

    A hostile creature capable of possessing or imitating objects, creating threats that can blend into raid environments.

  • Distorted

    A monster type found in raid locations whose awareness and wake-up behavior has been specifically adjusted in recent updates.

  • Flowermen

    Hostile creatures with African and American biome variants, including Alpha miniboss variants, lure-bushes, and roots.

Active Matter Progression Guide

Understand Monolith Access Levels, Harmonization Cycles, Merits, and the systems that control long-term equipment unlocks. Progression combines raid objectives with recurring Harmonization rewards and Monolith advancement.

    Increase your Monolith Access Level to unlock progression rewards and additional equipment opportunities.

  2. 2

    During an active Harmonization Cycle, earn Merits from daily Priority Raid objectives and Monolith Access Levels.

  3. 3

    Spend Merits on Harmonization rewards, including eligible rewards from previous Cycles.

  4. 4

    Past-cycle rewards can also use Crystallized Active Matter where the Harmonization system allows it.

Active Matter Shelter and Crafting

Learn how the Shelter, Workshop, Replicator, Refiner, fusion, and item replication systems work together. These systems let you turn raid finds and resources into equipment while organizing and upgrading your base between deployments.
